(übersetzt):A new high purity shock tube with frequency modulation (FM) detection has been installed in order to investigate high temperature reactions of HCO radicals. In particular, the combustion relevant reaction HCO + O2 was investigated at room temperature and high temperatures. Furthermore, the photolysis and thermal decomposition of glyoxal has been characterised. In first experiments, the impact of boundary layer effects on the experimental pressure and temperature has been studied. Systematically higher values than predicted by ideal shock tube theory have been obtained. Consequently, a correction procedure based on Mirels´ boundary layer theory has been applied.
