The present PhD thesis deals with the synthesis and characterization of N, P ligands and the corresponding molybdenum complexes. The first part is concerned with the NP2 ligands (N,N-Bis[2-(diphenylphosphino)-ethyl]benzamine, Bis(2-diphenylphosphinophenyl)amine und Bis(diphenylphosphino-propyl)amine), in which three literature known ligands were used to produce molybdenum complexes. Furthermore, two new ligand systems (PhNprP2 and BnprPNP) could be developed, with whom also molybdenum complexes were prepared. Special attention is laid on the coordination of the ligands on the Mo(III)-stage and these wre studied by EPR spectroscopy. There could be shown several molybdenum(0)-mono(dinitrogen) complexes, but always mixed with bis (dinitrogen) complexes. In the second part, two new NP3 ligands and the corresponding molybdenum(0) complexes are presented. Of special interest here are the different geometries of the propyl-bridged phosphines. Thus, the literature known complex [Mo(N2)2(NP3)] (NP3 = N(CH2CH2PPh2)3) was compared with the new complex [Mo(N2)2(prNP3)] (prNP3 = N(CH2CH2CH2PPh2)3). Furthermore, an asymmetric NP3 ligand (prPNetP2) could be synthesized, upon the coordination to the molybdenum(III) precursor two isomers are possible. By the reduction to molybdenum(0) complex theoretically nine isomers are possible, but only five of them could arise. In fact, only three isomers are formed, which were determined by DFT calculations. In the last section a NP4 ligand should be developed based on the insights and results from the previous sections, to serve as a pentadentate ligand at the molybdenum center. From such a pentadentate ligand, the solution of the problems in the Chatt cycle is expected.
