Pflanzenverzeichnis des Dänischen Wohlds
Der Kreis Eckernförde wird heimatkundlich gewöhnlich in dreiLandschaften eingeteilt: Die beiden Halbinseln 1. Dänischwohld (DW) und 2. Schwansen, dazu 3. das Amt Hütten und seine Landschaft. Der Begriff der Landschaft Dänischwohld umfaßt, also zu den Halbinseln im genannten Sinne noch die Gegend von Schinkel und Sehestedt und reicht auch über Gettorf, das nahe der Innenbasis der Halbinsel liegt, noch weit nach Westen hinaus. Die in der folgenden Liste gedachte Landschaft aber ist begrenzt durch die Bahn Eckernförde-Kiel und durch den Kanal, enthält aber noch die Waldgebiete um Altenhof, Neudorf-Borstein, westlich Gettorf, Tüttendorf, Neuwittenbek, Schinkel und Königsförde, nicht aber die Gebiete auf der Kieler Seite des Kanals. Diese Gebiete sind auch durchaus nicht gleichmäßig begangen: genauer untersucht wurden die Spitze der Halbinsel, die Moor- und Waldgebiete um Felm, die Stranddünen, nicht nur um Strande, Schilksee und Bülker Leuchtturm, sondern auch von Dänisch Nienhof bis Aschau, dazu auch die Strandgebiete der Küste.
In terms of local history, the Eckernförde district is usually divided into three regions: the two peninsulas—1. Dänischwohld (DW) and 2. Schwansen—along with 3. the Hütten administrative district and its surrounding area. The term “Dänischwohld region” thus encompasses not only the peninsulas as defined above but also the area around Schinkel and Sehestedt, and extends far to the west beyond Gettorf, which lies near the inner base of the peninsula. The region referred to in the following list, however, is bounded by the Eckernförde–Kiel railroad line and the canal, but still includes the forested areas around Altenhof, Neudorf-Borstein, west of Gettorf, Tüttendorf, Neuwittenbek, Schinkel, and Königsförde—though it does not include the areas on the Kiel side of the canal. These areas have by no means been explored uniformly: the tip of the peninsula, the moor and forest areas around Felm, and the beach dunes—not only around Strande, Schilksee, and the Bülker Lighthouse, but also from Dänisch Nienhof to Aschau—as well as the coastal beach areas have been examined in greater detail.
