As compared to conventional UPQC with L filter at the front of the shunt VSI, the proposed UPQC provides improved compensation while using much smaller value of filter inductance. With the smaller filter inductance, voltage requirement of common dc link also gets reduced. It results in reduced switching losses in the series and shunt VSIs. Therefore, proposed UPQC achieves reduction in weight, cost, size, and losses while providing improved current compensation capability. Simulation results are presented to verify all the features. 4950 https://doi.org/10.1109/PESGM.2016.7741327$xR$3Volltext$534 4950 https://nbn-resolving.org/urn:nbn:de:gbv:8-publ-22279$xR$3Volltext$534 4961 https://macau.uni-kiel.de/receive/publ_mods_00002227 5051 621.3 5550 Capacitors 5550 Harmonic analysis 5550 harmonics 5550 improved current compensation capability 5550 Inductance 5550 Inductors 5550 invertors 5550 LCL filter 5550 Power factor 5550 power quality improvement 5550 power supply quality 5550 series VSI 5550 Shunts (electrical) 5550 shunt voltage source inverter 5550 shunt VSI 5550 switching convertors 5550 Switching frequency 5550 switching loss reduction 5550 Transient analysis 5550 unified power quality conditioner configuration 5550 UPQC configuration 5550 voltage regulation
