About the series
From many city and local histories as a structural-micro-historical access to the history of a larger area, the state history of Schleswig-Holstein can be opened up anew, as it were on a macro-historical level. In this respect, it is a special concern of the Departement oh History, Subject Area Regionalgeschichte mit Schwerpunkt Schleswig-Holstein of Kiel University to undertake and publish the competent and well-founded elaboration of such local histories in cooperation with and on behalf of interested municipalities in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
An overview of all volumes in the series published since 2013 can be found here.
The individual contributions included in the series are subject to strict selection by the series editor in close consultation with the client – as a rule a municipal council – and thus to internal and, if necessary, also external quality control, based on a written contractual agreement between client, editor and author.
The volumes of the series published by Kiel University Publishing are published in open access under the license CC BY-SA 4.0. The texts are thus freely accessible and reusable under the stated conditions.
The series volumes are published in loose succession both in electronic form via the Open Access Repository of Kiel University (MACAU) and as a print version in bookshops.
