On generalized smooth groups

A group G is called smooth if G has a maximal chain of subgroups in which any two intervals of the same length are isomorphic (as lattices). This concept was introduced by Schmidt (1997-1999). We will call a group G is totally smooth if all its maximal chains are smooth. The main concept in this thesis is that of a generalized smooth group. We will call G is generalized smooth if [G/H] is totally smooth for every subgroup H of prime order (as lattices).
