Chitosan-Pellets durch Extrusion/Sphäronisation - Entwicklung eines colon-freisetzenden Systems

As described by Steckel et al. [2003 and 2004] it is possible to produce pure chitosan pellets with excellent morphological and mechanical properties without using any further additives. The chitosan which was used in those studies had a degree of deacetylation over 95% and could be handled without any problem. However, subsequent batches of the same specified quality showed a inadequate plasticity for the extrusion process. Minor differences in the degree of deacetylation were expected to cause these process differences. Therefore the influence of the degree of deacetylation of chitosan on the production of pure chitosan pellets as well as on the physicochemical pellet and release properties of the obtained pellets was investigated by using four different degrees of deacetylation (99.9 %, 98 %, 95 % and 90 %, respectively). ...
