Dry mass estimation at linear forest objects via structure from motion

The aim of the current thesis was to develop and to test a technique for biomass estimation at linear forest objects (hedge banks and roadside plantings). Chapter 2 presents the literature review of biomass estimation techniques at various different spatial scales. Chapter 3 and 4 compare three different methods of wood yield estimation at eleven linear forest objects: (1) allometric equation, (2) structure from motion and (3) aerial images plus age of object. Chapter 5 addressed multiple questions that arose during the process of the previous papers.
