Role of DNA methyltransferase 3A (DNMT3A) in intestinal epithelial cells during homeostasis and inflammation

This thesis investigates the role of DNMT3A in regulation, via its DNA methyltransferase activity, the transcriptome and methylome profile of intestinal epithelial cells. In addition, the consequences of the lack of DNMT3A on the functionality of the epithelial barrier was evaluated in vitro and in vivo models. Insights provided in this study may contribute to the development of new alternative biomarkers and development of new therapeutic approaches in IBD.
