New research in Carissa Aurelia (2021–2025)
Der Beitrag fasst die zwischen 2021 und 2025 in Carissa Aurelia durchgeführten feldarchäologischen Untersuchungen zusammen. Diese umfassen die Ergebnisse geophysikalischer Prospektionen (Geoelektrik, Georadar, Magnetometrie), einer topographischen Aufnahme sowie zweier Ausgrabungskampagnen mit insgesamt sechs Sondagen. Die Kombination der angewandten Methoden ermöglicht es, die Entwicklung von Carissa von ihren vorrömischen Anfängen bis zum Ende der Besiedlung in islamischer Zeit nachzuzeichnen.
The article summarises the field archaeological investigations carried out between 2021 and 2025 in Carissa Aurelia. They include the results of geophysical prospection (geoelectric, georadar, magnetometry), a topographical survey, and two campaigns of archaeological excavations with a total of six sondages. The various methods used made it possible to outline the development of Carissa from its beginnings in pre-Roman time to the end of its settlement in the Islamic period.
El artículo resume las investigaciones arqueológicas de campo llevadas a cabo entre 2021 y 2025 en Carissa Aurelia. Estas incluyen los resultados de prospecciones geofísicas (geoeléctrica, georradar, magnetometría), un levantamiento topográfico y dos campañas de excavación arqueológica con un total de seis sondeos. La combinación de los distintos métodos empleados ha permitido reconstruir la evolución de Carissa desde sus orígenes prerromanos hasta el final de su ocupación en época islámica.
