Bruszczewo II [Teil 1] : Ausgrabungen und Forschungen in einer prähistorischen Siedlungskammer Großpolens
Bruszczewo 5 is characterized by both waterlogged as well as mineral preservation of archaeological features and ecological archives. Therefore, in contrast to many other Early Bronze Age sites and settlement areas the reconstruction of ecological conditions, economy and settlement pattern is possible to an exceptional degree. To date, the volume “Bruszczewo 1” has documented the condition of features and sampling possibilities, which had been excavated or extracted during earlier campaigns. In volume Bruszczewo 2 we continue this strategy for detecting the relation of natural and anthropogenic processes on different spatial scales. Consequently, one of the main archaeological efforts of our research is shaped by the reconstruction of intra-site structures and the organization of social space in the surroundings. The research concept deals with inquiries at different spatial levels: first workshop, household organization and small quarters within the settlement Bruszczewo 5, second the fortified settlement, third the direct vicinity of the site (Samica valley), forth the settlement region (Kościan basin) and fifth inter-regional issues of Únětice societies.
